You weren’t born angry.
You weren’t born bitter.
You weren’t born broken.
But somewhere along the way, life hit you hard… and kept on hitting.
The abuse.
The silence.
The fake smiles from people in the church who knew what was happening but said nothing.
The older boys. The men in the house.
Even the deacons and ministers.
They called you names, mocked your masculinity, and used you for their own twisted pleasure.
No one stepped in to protect you. No one stood up for you.
So you learned how to survive.
Now, your survival looks like this:
Your armor is sarcasm.
Your weapon is words.
Your satisfaction is making other people feel what you once felt — helpless, ashamed, small.
You’ve mastered it.
You can tear a soul apart with one sentence.
You’ve prided yourself on being merciless — because mercy was never given to you.
But lately… the high isn’t the same.
You’ve changed your clothes.
You’ve changed your name.
You’ve even changed your body.
And yet…
You’re still empty.
“What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” — Mark 8:36
You laugh with others, but you cry alone.
You rage online, but your pillow knows the tears you’ve never told anyone about.
You know deep down… this isn’t working.
But you’re terrified it’s too late to turn around.
Let me tell you something raw and real:
It’s not too late.
“Where sin increased, grace increased all the more.” — Romans 5:20
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
You’re not trash.
You’re not forgotten.
You’re not disgusting in His eyes.
The God you’ve blamed — the One you thought couldn’t exist because of what His people did to you —
He never did those things to you.
They did.
And He will hold them accountable.
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” says the Lord. — Jeremiah 23:1
This God is not standing with a whip.
He’s not hiding behind stained glass.
He’s not asking you to fix yourself before you come to Him.
He’s saying:
“I see you. I’ve always seen you. And I want to heal you.”
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” — Jeremiah 31:3
Jesus is not religion.
He’s not rules.
He’s not fake smiles.
He is the Son of God who knows betrayal, abuse, and rejection firsthand.
He was beaten by religious leaders.
He was nailed to a cross for sins He didn’t commit.
He bled for you.
“He was despised and rejected by mankind… a man of suffering… He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:3–5
If something inside you is whispering, “Maybe…” — that’s Him.
Not condemning you.
Calling you.
Not to punish you… but to redeem you.
Not the fake version the world built… but the real you He created before the pain began.
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” — Jeremiah 1:5
