The Lie That’s Killing Men: How Chasing ‘Life’ Without God Ends in Death
(John 14:6, Proverbs 14:12)
Men, this is going to sting—but it’s better than being lied to.
Our culture says a man’s life is measured by how much he earns, how many women he’s had, how respected (or feared) he is, and how “free” he feels to do whatever he wants. The unspoken rule? God is optional.
But here’s the truth: when you take God out of the picture, you’ve cut yourself off from the only real source of truth and life. Truth becomes whatever suits you in the moment. Life becomes chasing the next high, the next win, the next escape. And when the thrill wears off, you’re left with emptiness—sometimes trauma, sometimes death.
Why Men Stay Stuck in the Rut
- It promises relief. That drink, hookup, or big deal feels like it’s fixing the problem—until it wears off.
- It feeds your pride. You feel in control, even when you’re spiraling.
- It blinds you. You don’t see the damage until it’s too late.
Proverbs 14:12 says: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
The Way Out: 4 Biblical Steps to Break the Cycle
- Face the truth. (John 8:32) Admit the reality—you are not in control, and your way is killing you.
- Return to the Source of life. (John 14:6) Life is not in success, pleasure, or strength—it’s in Christ.
- Replace lies with God’s Word. (Psalm 119:105) Start your day with Scripture before the world starts lying to you.
- Walk it out daily. (James 1:22) Don’t just “believe”—act on the truth. Change your habits, your circle, your intake.
Man to man: You were built for more than surviving and faking it. You were built to lead, protect, and live in strength that comes from God—not from chasing your own shadow.
Before another day passes, choose the narrow road. Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Everything else ends in death.
